Train Tales and Crafts

Written by Shana Fung

Chugga chugga CHOO CHOO! The New-York Historical Society’s December School Vacation Week from December 26 –January 2 is all about trains. Friends big and small have been stopping by to check out Holiday Express: Toys and Trains from the Jerni Collection, to journey on a special train scavenger hunt, and to join us for Train Tales and Crafts.

At Train Tales and Crafts, we’ve been reading tall tales of trains traveling west, getting competitive with sharks, hauling toy freight, and even being trained as a pet. After each story time, families have been working together to create some train-inspired crafts. Check out some of the photos below.

If you haven’t stopped by yet, it’s not too late! Train Tales and Crafts, along with all of our December School Vacation Week programs, will continue through this weekend until January 2.
